My Little Piano Boy
In late August 2015, I was pregnant and spotting. It was a stressful time. I was in the car on our way to the supermarket one afternoon when I had a vision of a little boy sitting on the piano. He must be 3 or 4 as his feet were dangling from the piano bench. He smiled at me after playing his little ditty. That vision comforted my heart.
I had a miscarriage shortly after that. Yet God did not forget. Exactly a year later, I became pregnant. Now Zachary, whose name means “God remembers,” is 18 months. I did not expect him to be that interested in the piano at this age, but he is.
This is a child who sidles up to me and gives me a smile when I play his favorite classical tunes. Two weeks ago he surprised all of us by bawling after I stopped playing the piano.
This morning he asked me to sit him on the Yamaha and I got reminded of that vision.
I hope this little anecdote encourages you. God has not forgotten you nor your dreams. He is faithful to fulfill His promises to His children. Take heart! Things will come to pass at their appointed time.
This is what the Lord says in Habakkuk 2:2-3
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.
