My Waterbaby Turns One
My waterbaby is 1!
I still go gaga every time I hear him call me “Mama”, or every time he smiles shyly and puts his hands together when I tell him we need to pray or how he flips the pages his board book and pretends to read out loud and how cool he is when Achie Mishca hugs him and makes him her pillow at night.
Shortly after he was conceived, God gave me this promise in Isaiah 66:
A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her . . .” Isaiah 66:7-10
I was pregnant for the third time and I did not want to have another C-section. This promise gave me so much hope that everything would be alright.
God is ever faithful to His promises. I gave birth naturally in a pool to a boy. He allowed me to give birth without pain! I pushed Zachary for one hour and a half without feeling any crowing pain. Neither was there a need for episiotomy or stitches.
What I failed to realize until early this year was this–Zachary came out on Israel’s 69th founding anniversary (The Jewish date fell on May 1-2 in 2017 in our calendar), fulfilling Isaiah 66 to the letter, which is God’s promise that Israel would be rebuilt as a nation after it was totally obliterated in 730 BCE.
God was in fact telling me 9 months before Zachary was born that I would give birth on Israel’s anniversary.
He was born on the 69th anniversary of the founding of Israel. .
That really blew me away!
I only learned about this when we were planning a trip to Israel this summer. And so Zachary got to celebrate his first birthday in Israel. Here he is in Metzitzim Beach, Tel-Aviv.
