Prince Charming. . .

Little girls dream of being swept off their feet by prince charming. This is carried on into adulthood, where young women risk everything to find love. And more often than not find themselves disappointed, disillusioned, or worse–abused. Some hop from relationship to relationship, hopping to find that perfect fit, that One True Love that seems ever so elusive. Years of feminist activism has done little to eradicate this desire.
Are fairy tales to blame? Should we ban Disney cartoons? And thus spare ourselves from the heartache? Even before the first fairy tale was written, there is another book that spoke of a warrior prince– a Savior seeking to save a damsel in distress.
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. . .  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine line, white and clean”  (Revelation 19:11-14)

He is a prince borne of another world, whose intentions are much higher and nobler. He came to in pursuit of your love and to show how serious he is in winning your heart, he pledges his soul to the point of laying down his life. He is none other than Jesus Christ, the  lover of your soul.
