Things That Make Mommies’ Lives Better

As a mommy with no nanny, I appreciate things that make life more efficient and convenient, so that I can spend quality time with my family.  Here are some things on my list:

1.   Self-watering Pots and Self-watering Sticks. We love plants. I am daily surrounded by plants not just from our small garden but inside the house. But not all houseplants are easy to maintain. Some need more water and sunlight than others.  These self-watering pots are perfect because they dispense the amount of water the plant needs. It is also helpful for the times when have to leave for travel.   We also have an water irrigation system for our garden. I just discovered that they are now selling for less than P5000 in Lazada. Set the electronic timer and it waters your plants without fail. If only I can find an automatic weed puller and grass cutter.  🙂 
   

2.   Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner. I have white tiles around the house and this comes in handy especially in picking up dust bunnies and stray hair under furniture. It is like having your own personal maid, but this does not talk back or ask for cash advance. It reminds me of Irona, Richie Rich’s robot maid.  Cleaning the vacuum and seeing all the dust it has picked up always gives me a sense of wonder and satisfaction. Thank God for technology!

3.  LG Front Load Washer and Dryer. My has been around for 5 years and works very efficiently. It has never conked out on us even if we use it almost every other day.  It comes with a baby care program which cleans which meticulously cleans disinfects with hot water. It was particularly helpful when during my daughter’s dirty diaper days.  It also plays a cool tune when it has done its job, which saves me a lot of time.

4. Anti-glare/Anti-radiation Glasses. This is a must if you want to avoid eyestrain and headache while surfing or working on the computer. It also protects the eyes from macular degeneration caused by blue ray light emitted by computers, cellphones and tablets.  A lot of people swear it has removed eyestrains and headaches.

5. Turbo Broiler. Although I have an oven, I really appreciate having a turbo broiler around.  It is a healthier way of cooking without sacrificing taste.  I use it to bake fish and chicken and they come out perfect all the time.   The food taste better than their fried counterpart, but without the bad stuff and oil splattering all over the kitchen. It is also easier to maintain and clean than a stove oven.

6. Hepa Filter Air Purifier. We live in a polluted world. Research says that air inside your house is many times more polluted than the air outside. House paint, building materials, furniture and things all emit pollutants. I always keep our windows open for better air circulation but I am seriously thinking of getting one of these air purifiers. This is a must if a member of your family has allergies or suffer from asthma.
