Healing In Jesus’ Name
I woke up at dawn today with nervous tension from a bad dream. My stomach was in knots, my heart was racing and I had a bad headache. I laid there for an hour beside my baby doing some deep breathing and an energy medicine technique to calm my nerves. Didn’t work. I dreaded the thought that I would have to suffer through it the whole day, like I did yesterday, until I took a long swim late in the afternoon.
Suddenly, a thought entered my mind. I rebuked the palpitations, the tension and the headache in the name of Jesus, as our Lord did to the fever of Peter’s mother-in-law, healing her instantly (Luke 4:38-40). As soon as I released the words, almost immediately my heart rate became steady and my stomach stopped churning. The headache abated 5 minutes later.
I cannot thank Jesus enough for purchasing our salvation and healing through His sacrifice on the cross. What a powerful name! And such is the privilege we have as children of the Most High God! Thank you, Lord!
“. . .He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” -Isaiah 53:5 KJV
